I am sole owner/proprietor of The Yarn Palette. I say "we" because I am accruing an employee, a sub store, ( a lady that sells jewelry is kind of like a business partner and has her own inventory. She is a business partner in the sense that I share some space for a price) and the previous owner is sticking around making sure I get the hang of things. So, literally it's just me owning the store but, there is a "we" actually moving across the street. It is only moving because I am buying it. I should be flying solo by February.
The picture below is the store in case you missed it. The space is 1800 sq ft and it is both units you see in the photo, they are connected. The building has 2 bathrooms, storage space, and an additional room that will be Mikey's room when he comes to work with me. The left unit will be the main knitting/crocheting area and the right side with have the yarn, notions, accessories, and supplies.
I have to say that other than the major personal milestones in my life (marriage and baby), this is the most work, most fun, and most satisfying by all. Let's hope it always stays the most fun and most satisfying.
Also, thank you guys so much for the warm comments and support! It's nice to be able to share your dreams with such supportive people. Just remember....don't have anything nice to say? Don't f*n say it. Sorry, still weening myself from cussing.

AAAAWWWWEEEEESOME!!! I'll send my mom to be your first customer. Pier says you rock too. I can't wait to hear more about it, and put up pics of the interior when you get it set up. CONGRATULATIONS!
Mikey even gets his own room!? Now, THAT is brilliant! I can't wait to see photos of the inside once you get all moved in. I can't imagine how much work it is....but the fact that you are enjoying all that work means it is the right thing for you! Congrats! (Who is saying not nice things, by the way?)
Wow! 1800 sounds big, but I guess it fills up fast. I love the look of the building from the outside. Sounds like you have a good 'we' team, too! How long had the previous owner owned the place?
Hmmm - I almost want to say something not nice because now it seems like a challenge :) - but there is nothing not nice to say about this! You are doing something you love and that you daydreamed about and now you are actually doing it. And it's a big step and it's a little scary but you are doing it and loving it. That's nothing short of admirable!
I still can't believe you are opening your own store. It's amazing. Will you be doing a website too or just keep it local? I have to find someone that knits so I can be a customer! I'd like to learn, but give me a few more years once the girls are self sufficient, then I'll give it a whirl.
This is great. And, that's a good way to make sure you keep getting supportive comments. Hee.
