Must have been food poisoning. Mikey is fine, maniacal and all.
Funny thing happened to me. I went to the extremely popular and over crowded coffee place this morning after the gym. I like to go there cause I can get myself a treat (a nice buzz for the day) and Mikey gets a treat too! A happy mommy! Seriously though, he either gets a vanilla milk or apple juice. Both are 100% organic so I don't feel like a bad mommy taking him to this overpriced chain. I don't want to say the name of the chain but we all know that it rhymes with tarfucks. Ok, that was naughty. I don't care though. Mike and I and my friend Jen and her kiddo were trying to enjoy this little brief outing. We couldn't. Normally, I can't enjoy anything due to a child that is constantly on the move. Today it was because where we wanted to sit was fly infested. There were so many flies that we couldn't shoo them away. We chose a seat in a different spot. That my friends, is no easy feat. This is an extremely small location. There are maybe 5-6 tables and one section with two comfy but over sat in chairs. That's where the flies were. I have had it! Why is there only one of these stores in a town of over 100,000 people.
There needs to be another one. Mikey was asleep when I got home so I called Star...I mean tar...you know who. They said they would be opening another locations soon! I was excited. Then she said where it would be. Instant groan. In the ghetto. "Why there?", I asked. I told her that it was in a pretty high crime area. This lovely (NOT) customer service agent told me that I like Star...uh, I mean Tarfucks should not look down on an area for being impoverished. She explained to me that with Magic Johnson they go into "Urban" areas and help bring in jobs and blah, blah, blah. I have no problem whatsoever with poor or impoverished areas/people. Most of my family is poor! I do have a problem bringing my son to an area of high crime, drugs, and gang related activity. If I don't feel comfortable taking my kid there I won't be going. Simple as that. Why go somewhere that you don't feel safe? Maybe it will be in the slightly less crime and drug infested area near the aforementined site. I would like a 5 minute drive without traffic than a 15 minute drive with. She went on and on about how it shouldn't matter where they put up a shop. For a good 5 minutes she ranted and raved and tried to make me feel bad for saying that it wasn't in a good area. Well guess what Bitch? I don't feel bad. It isn't the worst part of town, I will give you that. It isn't the most optimal location either! I think I will be finding some other treat. I know myself though and I love their overpriced treats. I will ban them for one year at THAT location. Uh, unless they have a drive-thru. I don't care if I am snob. I like my family safe.

You're not a snob!
I can't wait to see you! Are you still coming to the party? I'll send you the invite when I get back to San Antonio. Talk to you soon!
I agree with Tracy... putting in a store in a bad part of town would seem to not necessarily make a profit for the company. I'm all for helping the economy and giving people jobs and all, but they could've put a second store in a better location and then put a 3rd store in the hood.
I'm surpised that they will get enough people to pay five dollars for a drink in MOST neighborhoods, frankly. Including me.
