hmmmm...

We were at the library for all of 10 minutes. It sucked.
He was very confused for about half a second then he wanted to run. I did not want him to run and made him hold my hand. To which he replied,"NO MAMA HAND! NOOOOOoOOOOOO! That's not embarrassing having a toddler screaming in a quiet library while the librarians give you the evil eye. Nope. Not embarrassing at all. When we finally reached the children's section all of 30 seconds later he just goes nuts screaming, "Books! Books! Mama wook books!" Wouldn't be so bad if he weren't running trying to tear down all the books he could get his grubby little mitts on, all the while hollering about books. I grab 3 books and ask him if we could get a table. He obliges. As soon as I open the book and read the first word aloud he was out of his chair bringing another book. Then he saw the dinosaurs and wanted to play with them. Then he wanted all the dinosaurs, especially other children's dinosaurs. My rule is you don't share you don't play. We promptly went to Chuck E. Cheese.

On another note, I went out last night with girls. I had a very fun time and plenty of beer. It's different going to the bar as a married person. My friends are single and once they start talking to guys I drink alone. Anyways....The most interesting thing about last night is that I met a blog stalker. My first one. I was so proud. It turns out we have two mutual friends and we vaguely remember each other from college but we don't really know each other. She said that she knows this sounds weird but she reads my blog. I told her that was not weird and I totally love it. I don't know why but it made my night! I love that people are reading. I love it even more when people are reading and adding comments. ;)

I've had to carry a screaming toddler out of the library before. I put on my blinders so I couldn't see everyone stare and point at me. maybe the next time will be better - now that he knows there's a big building somewhere full of fun books!

That SUCKS about the library. I just totally ignore those evil eye people...they just don't get it!!

I don't even think I have any more single friends....well...maybe one. They are definitely in a different world from me. I was supposed to go out tonight with other girls but my kid is barfing, so I'm stuck at home. Yuck.

Hhhmmmm......drinking beer.........I can relate. I just spent the last 9 days drinking myself silly. I don't recommend going that strong for that long. I'm hurting.

It will get better. Ashlyn just didn't get it the first time we went. We've started going once a week now. She loves it and gets really excited about going. Our library is really little, so we are often the only ones in the children's area, though.

And, libraries don't need to be that quiet. It would be different if you were in a research section of a university library or something.
