After my last post I decided to just see what was going to happen.
I had a dentist appointment. While waiting for the appointment to start I got another job! I know it sounds crazy. I overheard a lady talking to the receptionist about needing someone for just 2 days a week at her store. A local business is more my speed than a corporation. No offense to my current employer but it's just not as fun. I love my new job. My first day was today and it was awesome. It's laid back like my old, perfect, most wonderful job in Alaska. If I am in a jam she doesn't mind me bringing Mikey with me. I love that. It's a great job and the people that come in are so friendly. My duties are pretty easy and enjoyable. The only thing is that it is quite a drive, as it is out in the country. I sometimes forget how Texan I am. My life with the military has made it so easy for me to leave behind being Texan. Most of the time I don't even have a Texan accent but I can feel my tongue slipping back into it's old speech patterns from high school here. I forgot how much I know about cattle (it's not a lot but it's more than a city girl), crops (local like wheat, pecans, and hay), and general Texas stuff. The best thing about my job is that we have a neat old Coke cooler and it's stocked with glass bottle soft beverages. I LOVE soda in a glass bottle. I think it just tastes better. Anyways, the best thing is that we have "Dublin Dr. Pepper". It's one of the original Dr. Pepper makers here in Texas, in Dublin, Texas to be precise. What is so great about "Dublin Dr. Pepper"? So glad you asked. Out in Dublin they still make the Dr. Pepper with natural Imperial Cane Sugar, NOT corn syrup. The flavor is sweet but not over powering. It's the BEST! Anyways, we have it and I don't have to drive to Stephenville to pick up a case. (Dublin Dr. Pepper made in Dublin is only sold in a 50 mile radius. Stephenville is the closest and it's still over an hour to get there. This is why I am excited.) At work I can wear a t-shirt from work with jeans and whatever shoes I want. I greet the customers and look around mostly. We have furniture, home decor, candles, and soaps (both are hand made by locals) ,some jarred foods (like salsas and fruit butters and fruit spreads which are made by a family who have been doing it for 4 generations), and some accessories. The store is a 10,500 sq foot store so there is a lot of walking. Anyways....I love it.
Oh what about the dental appointment? It was one of the best by far. I had to have some cavities filled and he used this analgesic gel to numb my gums before he gave me a shot in the gums to fully numb it up. That might not be a big deal to ya'll but for me it was heaven! It was fast and easy...if only my womanly appointment next month goes as well. *sigh*

Sounds like a great job.......good for you!!!
That sounds awesome! My brother and sister are always trying to score some REAL Dr. Pepper made with sugar. That is cool that you have easy access! Are you dumping the old job? Or keeping both? What did Scott decide on the refrigerator! :)
Congrats on the new job! Sounds like a job perfect for you.
I totally understand what your saying about bottled soda...it's my favorite way to have soda because it really does taste so much better.
I can't believe you got a job while at the dentist office. Would never have guess that would happen. I'm glad you are enjoying it. Hope you don't spend all your hard earned (or maybe easy earned) cash on all their products and Dr Pepper.
Congrats on the new job...sounds great for you! I also love pop out of a bottle, but not the easiest to find.
So where do you work now?
You got a dog?
I got a dog for the kids last fall. I wish I hadn't. Now I'm thinking about getting them another dog. I wish I wasn't thinking that!
