Parent's Night

Last night was Michael's pre-school parents night. OMG! I am a parent...I still can't get over that sometimes. I think when he is in high school I will still be awed that he is in high school and that I am his mom...and in the back of my mind I will swear, and wonder how it happened so fast.
Orientation for him is on Tuesday and his first day is next Thursday. It is so weird that he is starting school. Have I mentioned that I am shocked about it? It's a great school, so I am not too worried. We enrolled him back in March and have been eagerly awaiting this week. Scott finagled getting off early to be there for Parent's Night which was a rare treat. We both felt freaked out that we have a 2 1/2 year old and both thought we weren't old enough to be there. Since I am from here, I saw 4 people that I went to high school with last night. That made me feel a little better.
Anyways, I am lookin forward to resuming "me-time" next Thursday. Who knows what trouble I can get into...

Saff started at a "preschool" this past week. She's going 3 mornings a week for 3.5 hours each time. I LOVE IT!!!!

Lauren starts tuesday (2.5 hours for me woo hoo) you have assuaged my fears that i was jumping the gun and throwing her in school too early! it seems everyone else is starting this year too! i think i am taking it a little too seriously though, i insisted that michael take off from work to be present for orientation and i nearly shed a tear picking out her backpack. i cannot wait to see the pics of him headed off for his first day!

wow, I can't believe pre-school starts for such an early age. Kind of a shock, I always throught three years old. Maybe it's because that's what it is here in Japan. I wish it was now! I'm hoping to find a local day care once we are settled in so she can get used to hearing Japanese so she isn't freaked out by preschool in January. Can't wait to hear how he does. Free time...tell me how it is when you get it!
