Black Bear Eating a Fish Head
The Closest I Have Ever Been to a Moose
Can we please go for that walk now?
Now for the "lovely" walk. We went down to a city park so that we could take Jack for a walk. It started out great. We had eaten, gone to the bathroom, and had a fresh diaper on. We were all set. We pull up to the park which seemed to be in a sketchy part of town. I say to Scott,"Hmmm, looks a little scary. Do you think it will be ok?" Scott shrugs and says his catchphrase," Sure." That should have been my first clue: sketchy neighborhood and unsure husband. There weren't any other cars around. That should have been my second clue. We get out of the car and get going (During this point I ask Scott if he locked the door a ba-gillion times.) We walk up to the entrance and we see a very scenic brook with a dude fly fishing. I think to myself,"See, there is nothing to be worried about, everything is fine. Just ignore that Native dude that looks drunk stumbling around." Fly Fisherman
We obviously stopped to take a picture of the fisherdude and went on our way on what looked like a trail. The pressed down, walked over many times grass indicated that it was most definitely a trail. Boy Howdy were we wrong. As we head into the make believe trail we see two young guys walking out. My first thought of course was: What are two dudes doing together in the bushes, I hope they weren't having gay sex. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." ( Think Seinfeld) Again I tell myself that I am being silly. Just do the walk and don't complain. It's a gorgeous day. Don't complain. Just walk. We walk for 5 whole minutes before stumbling into some homeless people's outdoor home. There were about 5 of them just sitting around and glaring at us. I mean really giving us the evil eye. I mumbled something about this not being a trail. Scott and I were embarrassed(although I am not sure why) and we walked out as quickly as we could. For some reason we were stunned and didn't say anything until a few minutes had passed. I decided it was time to talk and said, "I am going to blog about this." Scott rolled his eyes (because I said blog)and replied, in a very Jerry Seinfeld manner," You know the good thing about blogging about homeless people is that chances are good that they are not going read this, so they can't be offended." For some politically incorrect reason I had to have photographic proof about this. Yes, horror of all horrors I took pictures. I am told that this makes me a bad person. I think it might be a little wrong but how can anyone believe me if I don't have pictures. Scott hesitated and begged me not to...But I did. I even conned him into being part of my sick madness. I was just kind of schocked that there were so many homeless people in a public park. I don't know why but I was. You know how after you notice something for the first time you notice it even more after that? After walking in on their living space, we were more aware of it. For the rest of the walk we kept spotting people just hanging out in the brush and sleeping by the brook. So without further adieu:
If you look carefully over Scott's left shoulder and on the far right you can see two of the people we saw.
Random guy sleeping
Sorry the focus is off. For obvious reason I tried to take them quickly as to not get caught.
I am indeed a not so great person.
