No worry like a mom's worry...
I never really worried too much about anything....until Mikey. He has been, what I assume is teething. He chews on his fingers in the same spot, has been extry drooly, loose stools, and general fussiness. Unfortunately tonight though he has a fever! I woke up around midnight to a crying baby which is pretty unusual these days. I figured something was wrong. I could tell immediately that he was really warm. Too bad I don't know where our thermometer is. I sent Scott out about 1am to get one. I think he is mad about that. I don't care though. My baby wasn't feeling well. It turns out Michael is OK. It's just a low grade fever. For some reason though, without a thermometer, I felt lost. Hopeless, even. All these crazy thoughts were going through my mind...E.R., yucky people in E.R., not getting any sleep therefore causing me to get sick, brain damage to Mikey because the fever is so bad and the stupid packed and busy E.R. docs couldn't get to him in time...you get the point. My mindless blabbing has a point. There is just something about having your own kiddo to make you worry like you have never worried before. Also, why are birds so stupid? It's 2:05am and those damn birds are chirping! Don't they know I am trying to get my son to sleep!

I'm happy it's just a mild fever and that you didn't have to make that dreaded trip to the E.R. Those places are horrible. Hope he feels better soon!
Etta's going through the same thing right now; two top molars and both bottom cuspids. Lets just say fever, fussiness, and no food. It's hard seeing them not feel well and not being able to comfort them. Good for you to send Scott to the store, they need to do that every once in awhile to remind them that they are a daddy!
I am SO sorry! I know exactly what you are talking about with the worrying. If Becca even has a slight sniffle I start worrying that she might have life-threatening meningitis! It is worse when it is the middle of the night, too!
Our pediatrician told me you don't really have to worry about fevers until they are over 105. I was suprised to hear that! I hope he is feeling better and that y'all get some sleep!
