A Few of my Favorite Things...

I have been loving this winter. (Well, except for the freezing rain last week that kept me from seeing my son trick-or-treat because I had to drive 10 mph so I wouldn't die on the Rich (for you non-Alaskans the Rich is the Richardson Highway that I have to drive to get into town). All of this snow and frost is so beautiful. I don't ever want to leave Alaska. I don't understand how locals do leave Alaska. I love Alaska. However, since my husband is in the military it is inevitable that I too, will have to leave here. For this reason I have decided to try to post on a weekly basis a reason to love Alaska. For you Nay-sayers who do not love Alaska, DO NOT leave a comment. I will delete it.
That being said my first reason to love Alaska is: It's so cold in the interior of Alaska that it preserves it's beauty. The frost and snow does not melt off the trees, making it the proverbial "Winter wonderland". That is of course, unless, a Chinook wind comes and eats the frost and snow. If that wind does not come it looks like this almost everyday!

My Backyard Today and pretty much everyday!

I am really jealous of the beautiful view. I wish we had snow like that, but you know that would never happen here. When are you two due to PCS?

Those are GORGEOUS pictures!!! I love Alaska as well (that's why we requested to come back here), but I must say that having a baby/toddler here is a lot harder than it was as a childfree person, out cross country skiing every day!

You're right, Alaska is a winter wonderland! And people who move to Alaska either love it or hate it...we can't get Glenn's Dad to leave Fairbanks, not even for a vacation.

Wow, it's beatiful. Again, all I get to look at are cacti and dead bushes out here!

I understand that you don't want to come back here because you have been here forever, but I am excited. I really want to get the boys together!!! Daniel doesn't have any little kids around here to play with.

It really is incredibly gorgeous there. The first shot you took almost looks unreal(because it is so pretty). What will we ever take pictures of in Texas that is as beautiful as Alaska? I'm scared.

Lysandra- This one if for "The Quinn Report." Let them know that I will be taking some pics of our beautiful Texas surroundings :)

Are they moving here to SAFB too?
