Animal Planet

After discovering that my son has inherited too many of my undesired traits, I discovered his addiction to Meerkat Manor...You know that show on Animal Planet?

If he hears any note of the theme song he stops whatever he is doing IMMEDIATELY and watches the TV. (I know, I am such an awful mom to let him watch TV, but sometimes I need a break. Ok, ok, the truth is that I record it on the DVR and when I need a break, I plop him in his high chairs with a sippy cup and some snacks. Don't lecture me on this, I have a sneaking suspicion I am not the only mom who does this.)
Sorry for the tangent. Anyways, I figured if he likes watching that show and watching dogs run around he might like the aquarium. Did you know that the Mall of America has the largest underground aquarium and the most sharks on display? Well, it's true. So, during our trip to Minnesota we took a day to go to the cities and pop in the aquarium. I had been there once before but there is something about taking your baby with you that makes you see it in a whole new light. I think having a baby renews how you see the world sometimes...Again I digress....So we went to the aquarium. It was great. Here are pictures.

Mikey and Scott looking at the fish that surround us!

Alligator fish

Fish and some more fish

Calypso the sea turtle. She was so big.

This shark was so hungry that he took the feeding pole with him!

My favorites! Seahorses. The middle one is a pregnant male...if only human men could get knocked up...

That's so cute! I heard that alot of kids like aquariums... they like the sound because it's soothing and the movement keeps their attention....

Dang girl, you were able to snap some great shots. Have you ever considered a profession in photography? I love how Dad and Michael are looking up in amazement together!

Cool!!! Was that a stingray? Or what? IT looks freaky. I agree that babies and children allow us to see things in a whole new way!
