Let's hear it for the boy!

I am so behind in blogging that I forgot to mention one important development in my prodigal son. He knows how to clap and has been doing so for 2 whole weeks. I only have one good picture because it's hard to get him to clap when I am trying to take a picture of him since his main desire is to get little finger prints on my awesome camera lens. He is doing so much and growing so fast that it's hard to keep up. Just when I am sad that he stopped doing cute younger baby things he starts to do cool older baby things like clap and say, "mama, dada, baba, blah blah, or papapapapap". There is no mourning period over the loss of the little things because there simply is not enough time. My theory is that this all hits you intensely when your kid grows up and moves out of the house...Or Empty Nest Syndrome. I think that you just get so caught up in the newness of each phase that you don't get much time to be sad over the loss of the previous one. My goal now is to cry a little each week that he is growing up and maybe when he is so cool (and I am not so cool) and he doesn't want to hang out with me I won't be sad. Yeah right...To both...The crying and to me not being cool (like that could ever happen).

Yea me! I am the smartest baby ever!

Clapping is one of my favorite things. Ashlyn still is so excited about doing it. When we are in a crowd where people are clapping, she looks at me with a big grin on her face as she claps along, though she is sometimes a little late getting started.

I have so many great things to look forward to with sweet Salem. I can't believe she'll be doing such things in 6 mths or so. CRAZY!

I can't wait for Etta to clap. I bet it is hard getting a picture of them clapping, unless daddy is around to encourage clapping or take the picture!
